Jason, Marcus, and I went to see Hatebreed in 2003 at the Roxy. Guess who was opening for them? Damage Plan. I had never heard of them at the time, but being an old Pantera fan you can bet that my eyes bugged out of my head when I saw who was shredding the battleaxe center stage (not to mention the guy drumming up a storm).
As Zack Wylde said, “Every day is Dime Day.”
I saw Pantera and White Zombie co-headlining at Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Birmingham my last year in college. You’d be surprised at how horribly stoned you can become in an open air amphitheater if you’re the only person there NOT smoking weed.
Actually, now that I think about it, I’ve only ever gotten high at concerts and only ever via contact. It makes me paranoid. I don’t like it.
