Olympic BMX
It was supposed to be last night, right? ‘Cos I flipped back and forth between NBC and Eureka (it ended pretty much the only way it could, didn’t it?) a bajillion times and I saw plenty of Track and Field but not a lot of guys on little bikes.
So it’s not just me, then. I thought that it was supposed to be between 8 - midnight sometime. I think I read that on NBC’s own damn web page, and I know Bob Costas made some mention of it. I watched the track & field and even more gymnastics crap and didn’t see a single 20″ wheel all night. I had to call it at midnight because it turns out I need to keep my day job.
Not satisfied with the NBC olympic experience. One of my co-workers swears it’s going to be on tonight but I don’t know where he’s getting his info.
It finally came on about 12:30am EST. They didn’t show any of the womens races.
Mike Day freakin rinsed it proper. Kyle Bennett ate it big time. Ever heard of Latvia? I hadn’t but apparently they have great BMX riders there.

I set my alarm, got up, and went down to the gym in my apartment to watch it since we don’t have a TV yet.
No bikes.
I went back the next night at 12:35 AM, as advertised….no bikes again. That is, until 12:49 as I flipped through one last time in exasperation. Impressively, the racing was pretty good and was captured fairly well for TV. Kenan Harkin?! How did you find your niche, you lucky bastard? I got to see three good motos before they switched to volleyball. They promised more BMX later but I wasn’t about to wait half an hour standing on a treadmill in my flip flops. Anyone know if the finals are done yet? My TV shows up this afternoon and I’d love to check it out in high definizzle.
