Well I talked to the guys at Macneil months ago about this frame. From what they told me they have been testing it for about two years now. I agree that super thin tubing is a scary deal but lets take a tour of my current mountain bike made by none other than eastern. This is all you need to know about my mountain bike. The Frame in only 5.4lbs, its a hard tail and I havent snapped it yet. So maybe Macneil knows something about frame building the rest of us don't. You can bet money that I will be getting one of these new deuce deuce's hopefully by the end of the year. I'll be sure to try to break the shit out of it.

Also on a healthy note! I am officially quitting smoking!

Standover is an issue, for sure, if you want to keep the frame proportional, but I also have to wonder about the razor-thin tubing on this bike: thin walled and quintuple-butted tubing on an unusually long bike can't exactly help things structurally. 4.9 pounds is great and all, but on a bike whose wheelbase is longer than the USS Nimitz I have to wonder what happens when I'm jumping a box jump backwards and overshoot the tight landing. It's harsh enough when I land flat...what if Matt Stahl does it on a bike like this? I have visions of even a 25T chainwheel scraping the ground.

My next frame will probably be a Solid or FBM custom (with a standover that casts an intimidating shadow over any Killorado within glaring distance).
